Cyclops: How we transformed complex technology into a video that converts

When the client introduced us to Cyclops, the challenge was clear: an innovative product packed with technical specifications, designed for an audience that does not always have an engineering background. Safety managers, corporate buyers and trade show visitors. People who need to understand within seconds why Cyclops is different from anything else on the market. Our task was to translate that complexity into something immediate, visually powerful and persuasive.
THE PRODUCT
Cyclops is an autonomous fire suppression system based on water mist technology. It is designed to protect temporary environments, such as construction sites and temporary installations, operating without the need for human intervention — even at night and when no staff are present. The system scans its surroundings across a 180-degree field in real time, detects the heat source, automatically directs its nozzle and activates within seconds. A single unit covers up to 70 square metres, while multiple systems can be connected in a modular configuration to extend coverage. In the event of a power outage, it continues operating for up to 200 hours. A serious product with precise technical specifications. Exactly the kind of project we love.
THE CHALLENGE
The fire safety industry is not particularly known for high-quality visual communication. Most industry materials are technical, cold and difficult to engage with. The client needed something completely different: a video that could run on a trade show screen without sound, perform effectively on LinkedIn, be incorporated into a sales presentation and be published on YouTube. One piece of content, four different contexts. And the product had to look exactly as it is: reliable, intelligent and indispensable.
OUR APPROACH
We began by studying the product in detail. Technical data sheets, in-depth sessions with the client’s team and an analysis of its competitive positioning provided the foundation for the project. Nothing shown in the video was invented or approximated: every specification, camera angle and operating sequence reflects the actual product. From the initial briefing, we moved on to scriptwriting. Every scene had a specific purpose: introduce the risk scenario — construction sites, temporary spaces and unattended environments at night — present the product as the solution, demonstrate its step-by-step operation and conclude with the key technical specifications. No filler scenes, just purposeful communication. The 3D animation was developed using models faithful to the actual product, physically accurate materials and carefully designed lighting to convey robustness and technical precision. We combined 3D animation with a series of 2D animated infographics to communicate information that animation alone cannot convey as effectively: coverage in square metres, operating autonomy in hours and the scanning angle.
WHAT WE DELIVERED
A 90-second master video combining 3D animation and integrated 2D motion graphics. A 30-second cutdown for paid advertising campaigns. Assets prepared for Italian and English language adaptation.
APPLICATION SECTORS
This type of production is ideal for companies operating in the industrial, technology, medical and fire safety sectors. If you have a product with important technical specifications to communicate, a process that needs to be made easier to understand or an innovative technology to introduce to the market, 3D video with motion graphics is one of the most effective communication tools available.
